With experience in the premier USF2000 Series; of the Mazda Road to Indy ladder for IndyCar, Canadian Ryan Verra made his debut in Formula 3 Brazil at Velopark in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil for late 2014. In search of his return to racing after being sidelined with a season eye surgery, the pilot was invited to Brazil to face some tough South American opponents.
The first race took place in the rain on a wet track in Goiás, where an engine problem forced Ryan from qualifying in the first lap, which the team had to execute a complete engine change in less than 3 hours; but only in time to start from the pits. Having Dropped a lap behind the other opponents from this, Ryan kept his focus, looking to seize opportunities in the current weather conditions to make his way back up and to finish on the podium in third place.

But months of struggle ended in triumph for the 31-year-old Calgarian when he reached the podium during a Formula 3 race in Brazil last month.
For Verra the third place finish in his first attempt at Formula 3 racing was the latest success in a remarkable journey behind the wheel of blindingly fast cars.
Unlike many top drivers Verra came to the sport as an adult but quickly caught up with racers who had been behind the wheel since childhood and by last year he had worked his way up the rankings in the North America Indy tour’s USF2000 championships.
(September 1st, 2014) It’s been about 8 months since Canadian race car driver, Ryan Verra, last entered a race. The former Mazda Road to Indy USF2000 Championship driver claimed two victories, multiple podiums and finished second in the National Championship during his time with the series. Then, he took some time off. Not necessarily on purpose. Ryan had complications from lasik eye surgery which prevented him from begin able to safely drive a race car as well as nerve ending damage in his hand. Now, he is all healed and ready for a comeback.

Ryan Verra continued Alliance Autosport’s perfect win record in the 2013 USF2000 National Class Presented by SCCA Enterprises by winning both races at the historic Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
The event started off well with Verra running over 80 trouble free laps over the three test sessions and official practice session, getting faster and more consistent each session out. In qualifying, Verra laid down a very fast time on Lap 3 which would not beat.
